Harvard Business School Issues Study of McDonald's Sustainable Supply Chain Efforts

The Harvard Business School has issued an in-depth case study of the opportunities and challenges McDonald's confronts as we seek to achieve our vision of a socially responsible supply chain.

McDonald's Corporation: Managing a Sustainable Supply Chain provides detailed analyses of our worldwide supply chain operations, our socially responsible supply chain initiative, the opportunities afforded by our recognized industry leadership in sustainability, and the challenges of holistically and proactively address social and economic issues in a supply chain as extensive and complex as ours.

The case study uses our work to help preserve vulnerable areas of the Amazon rainforest as an example of our commitment to "doing the right thing" and our collaborative approach to developing long-term sustainable solutions. "McDonald’s response to the Greenpeace campaign has largely been viewed as a success," say the authors, citing commendations by Greenpeace and other key stakeholders.
