McDonald's #1 for Social Responsibility in Fortune's Most Admired Food Service Companies List

April 11, 2007

McDonald's has been ranked #1 for social responsibility in Fortune magazine's 2007 list of Most Admired Food Service Companies. Overall, we were ranked #2 in the list. This is the second year in a row we have achieved that ranking.

We were ranked #4 for social responsibility among companies in all industry sectors and #7 for financial soundness. In our own sector, we were ranked #1 for financial soundness, as well as for long-term investment.

The annual Fortune Most Admired list is a widely recognized report card on corporate reputation. It is based on surveys of corporate executives, directors, and securities analysts. They are asked to rate large companies in their own industry according to eight criteria that are viewed as key attributes of corporate reputation. Top rated companies are selected for the industry-specific Most Admired lists. A second round of ratings by the same respondents produces the all-industry Most Admired list.
