McDonald's Australia Publishes New Corporate Social Responsibility Report

October 14, 2008

McDonald's Australia has published its second Corporate Social Responsibility Report. The report documents progress the company has made toward a sustainable future since its first report was published, at the end of 2006.

The report focuses on areas of the business that stakeholders have indicated are most important to them. These are the company's:

  • Impact on the environment and the company's ability to operate its business in a sustainable manner.
  • Menu choices and food quality, as well as purchasing and marketing policies.
  • Employee practices and training opportunities.
  • Contributions to the community on a local and national basis.

The report exemplifies McDonald's "freedom within the framework" approach, showing how global priorities and guidelines are translated into specific programs and activities responsive to opportunities, challenges and other conditions in our local markets around the world.

Our new Worldwide Corporate Responsibility Report focuses on much the same priorities as the McDonald's Australia report and incorporates both global initiatives and initiatives in all our largest markets. As it shows, we are, in diverse and innovative ways, putting our values into practice to deliver responsible food for a sustainable future in the communities we serve around the world.
